Truth is the lightning rod of reason, ... or is it the other way around?

However you believe, one fact cannot be denied. Thomas Paine's Common Sense has been throwing the gauntlet of truth and reason into the sphere of political debate for over 200 years. You can imagine that a man whose own cadaver was disinterred is likely to be controversial over the ages. At times to his favor, at other times to his disfavor. Nevertheless, many assertions have been made; some true, some shadowed by either overzealous advocates or mal-intentioned critics. On this page we attempt to dispel the myths and support the historically accurate truth about Thomas Paine, his life, and his writings. We hope you enjoy this dialogue, and we welcome your feedback and comments. Feel free to submit a question as well. We will do our best get back with you in a timely manner.
